OUR STORY

WNY Heroes is a Western New York nonprofit dedicated to supporting veterans and their families through service, connection, and programs that meet real, everyday needs. From financial assistance to wellness initiatives, their focus is simple. Make sure local veterans feel supported, respected, and never alone.

One of their most unique programs brings that mission to life in a powerful way. Rescue dogs are paired with incarcerated individuals who train and care for them, giving both a second chance before the dogs are placed with veterans in need of companionship and support. It’s a program built on purpose, structure, and transformation for everyone involved.

Beyond that, WNY Heroes offers everything from food assistance to peer support, helping veterans navigate life after service with dignity and stability.

At its core, WNY Heroes is about community. It’s Western New York showing up for those who have served, creating meaningful impact through connection, compassion, and action.
