OUR STORY
Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue is a Buffalo-based nonprofit built on one simple idea. Every dog deserves another chance.
"Save one until there are none."
Focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs, the organization works closely with fosters, volunteers, and adopters to make sure each dog finds the right home. From intake to adoption, every step is handled with care, patience, and a deep understanding of what these animals need to thrive.
Beyond adoptions, Buddy’s Second Chance is about education, advocacy, and building a community of people who care. It’s not just about saving dogs. It’s about creating better outcomes for them long-term.
At its core, Buddy’s Second Chance is Buffalo showing up in the best way. People helping animals, giving them a fresh start, and proving that second chances really do change everything.

What makes Buddy's different?
They focus on the right match, not just a quick adoption. Every dog and every home matters.
Where kind of dogs does Buddy's rescue?
All kinds. Big, small, shy, goofy… every dog has a story and deserves a fresh start.
Do I have to adopt to help?
Not at all. Fostering, donating, or even sharing a post can change a dog’s life.
Fun Fact
Buddy’s pups aren’t just getting adopted, they’ve been Puppy Bowl stars four years in a row, representing Buffalo on a national stage!
Most Buddy’s dogs come from high-risk shelters out of state and start in a Buffalo foster home to decompress and be a dog. From there, it’s all about the right fit and setting them up for long-term success.
